You Belong Here

An online support group for women who have experienced sexual assault

Why I offer these groups

One of the things that gets to me most in this work is how often a woman tells me something she believes she’s completely alone in feeling. The shame, the self-blame, the difficulty finding words or the worry that if she does speak, someone will question her.

It’s painful enough that so many women experience sexual assault. That so many then carry it in silence, feeling responsible for what happened or ashamed of how it still affects them, is something I find deeply unfair.

That’s why I created You belong here. I wanted to offer a place where women can feel seen, heard and believed, without having to defend their experience or explain everything. Somewhere to begin loosening that barrier of shame together and find recognition in each other’s experiences. You don’t have to tell your story to belong here.

Starting again in December 2026 · Six live sessions · Two time-zone options

You might be getting on with life while privately carrying shame, questioning your reactions or feeling disconnected from the people around you. Perhaps you’ve spoken about what happened, or perhaps you’re still finding words for it.

You belong here is a small, closed support programme offering space to feel understood, explore the impact of sexual assault and connect with other women who recognise parts of what you’re going through.

The same participants will meet throughout the programme. You won’t be expected to tell the story of what happened, and you don’t have to know exactly what you need before reaching out.

A space where you don’t have to explain everything.

The heart of this group is belonging: having somewhere to bring the feelings, questions and everyday difficulties that can be hard to share elsewhere.

We’ll explore shame and self-blame, body connection, boundaries and what support can look like for you. There is room for different experiences and responses, without comparing whose experience was worse or expecting everyone to recover in the same way.

This is a facilitated support programme focused on life in the present. Detailed recounting or processing of the assault is not part of the programme.

What’s included?

Six live online sessions, lasting 90 minutes each

Meet with the same small group throughout the series. Sessions combine guided conversation, accessible information and optional gentle somatic practices.

A companion workbook

Reflections, practical tools and optional exercises to explore between meetings and return to afterwards. Use what feels helpful, at your own pace.

A free 15-minute introductory call

Before joining, we’ll meet privately to discuss what you’re looking for, answer your questions and check together whether the programme feels aligned with your needs.

A personal support plan

Identify what helps you, who you can turn to and what further support you might want after the programme ends.

What will we explore?

Across the six meetings, our guiding themes will be:

Finding your footing: getting acquainted, establishing group agreements and identifying what helps you participate comfortably.

Understanding your responses: making sense of how your experience affects daily life.

Reconnecting with your body: exploring awareness and choice gently, without pressure to push through discomfort.

Boundaries and self-trust: noticing your preferences, expressing limits and asking for what you need.

Shame and connection: exploring self-blame and the experience of being heard without judgment.

Moving forward: recognising what has helped and planning support beyond the programme.

There will also be room to respond to what matters to the group.

Is this group for me?

This programme welcomes women aged 18 and over, including trans women, who have experienced sexual assault, recently or in the past.

You don’t need a diagnosis, to have reported what happened or to already be in therapy. You may feel certain about how to describe your experience, or still be making sense of it. Either way, you are welcome to enquire.

The group may be a fit if you’re looking for connection with other survivors, space to explore the impact on your life and practical ways to support yourself.

Before offering a place, I’ll speak with you individually. If your needs fall outside what the programme can provide, we’ll discuss that privately and explore other support options.

Your participation, your choice

You can speak, listen or pass. You decide how much you share, and you can pause or opt out of any exercise.

There is no touch, nudity or requirement to close your eyes. Alternatives will be offered for practices that don’t feel comfortable.

Together, we’ll establish agreements around respectful listening, privacy, respecting names and identities, avoiding graphic descriptions and asking before offering advice.

Sessions will not be recorded. Members will be asked to keep each other’s identities and experiences private, although confidentiality between participants cannot be guaranteed. I’ll explain confidentiality and its limits before you join.

For online participation, you’ll need a private space where others cannot overhear the group, and a reliable internet connection.
